Living room redo

We moved a few months ago and here is what our living room looked like before:
And here it looks like now:

I made a lot of the items so it took me awhile to get it all put together and put up. I pretty pleased with how it all turned out.

I have plans to put up some white shelves on each side of my wall collage. But we have a lot of other big things that costs some $$$$ so my pretty shelves will have to wait for awhile.

I hope to also get a nice big area rug to put in there too, but that too will have to wait.

Easy Peasy Handmade gifts

I saw this very cute gift idea HERE and just couldn't pass up on making some of these. So I headed to Big Lots and the Dollar Store and got some hand soap and fake flowers.
We had some ladies help with a church function recently, so I made a little tag and dropped them off. I must admit they were a big hit! (and for a good price too)

All you need to do and remove the labels, push the flowers down with a skewer stick and dress it up how you like, then give them to someone special.

Sand art is fun!

A few weeks ago I had preschool swap at my house and I wanted to teach them about colors. We talked about what happens when you mix red and blue to make purple and so on.

I found this idea online and thought it would be perfect for my kids. They loved it and it was so fun to see the different personalities show through their art.

And of course we had to end it with some rainbow cupcakes. This is the best cupcake recipe I have ever seen from Our Best Bites

Seriously, go try it, you will not regret it! Yummy

I Heart spray paint

A little over a year ago I made this beautiful rolled rose wreath from crate paper. I loved everything about it, minus the hours upon hours of rolling and gluing and burning my fingers, but I LOVED the final result. I hung it up in my house because that baby was too nice to be on my front door with the crazy weather we have.

But, I am sad to say that it was next to a window and it partially faded my beautiful blue wreath and turned it almost a faint pink color. My next thought was let it hang on my front door and let the sun fade the whole thing. But I wasn't digging the end result so... I went and got myself some spray paint. And now it is beautiful all over again. It even has a nice little glossy shine to it now too.

Now that spring is finally sprung and I ready to get my spray-paint groove on!

I am serious now

Betsy and I really do want to get this blog going, but I for one, have been slacking. Well to my defense I did have tons going on this year and recently I just moved. But now....I have my own craft room! Yeah for me. Ok, I will try not to gloat too much, but I thought I would finally share a few crafts I have managed to squeeze in over the last few months.

I made this for my daughter's room. Can you guess what it is made from? Brown paper lunch sacks. Cool huh?
My daughter loves to color especially at church. But she was always interrupting me and those around me, by begging me to find her crayons at the bottom of the messy bag. So this is my new solution.
Now, if I can just teach her to put them back in the nice little slots instead of throwing them in bottom of my bag.
I made a car version for my nephew for Christmas.
The first week I moved into my house, I had no Internet. (Gasp here) I know a whole week without emails, facebook, and most importantly, craft blogs. So dare I say? I got a little creative by myself and came up with these cute shirts for my girls.

I even drew the heart myself....I told you I got a little crazy but I think they turned out pretty cute!

We're Back

Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner I decided to make a shirt for my daughter to wear on the special day. She loves it.
I have seen these menu's all over the place and finally made one to put on the side of my fridge.
A cute new bow for my daughter. She loves it, its pink and huge.
My daughter started preschool and is always bringing home artwork, so I made this to display it all.
